Maurer Electronics GmbH based in Munich, Germany, specialises in manufacturing high-security systems for identification documents. The one hundred percent subsidiary of the Berliner Bundesdruckerei GmbH was founded in 1975 and initially developed, manufactured and sold avionics, audio equipment and security systems. Their focus changed in 1983 and shifted towards ID documents. Today, Maurer develops state of the art ID document production technology and takes a leading edge in the supply of integrated systems for national and international ID applications.
